I spend a lot of time writing about
the mountain of bullshit that is
Christianity. I think it's time I focused my attention elsewhere: The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
I just can't get behind a god who rewards you by touching you with "His noodly appendage." And quite frankly, I'd be even less comfortable getting IN FRONT of such a deity. If I want to feel a noodly appendage, I'll drop the soap in a prison shower. This is NOT an effective way to market your religion. And to be fair, neither was the Spanish Inquisition.
However, Pastafarianism is not without respectable beliefs: Dress/talk like a pirate, drink beer, eat pasta. There are no arbitrary rules or commandments to follow-- just the Eight "I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts." And compared to other gods, the Spaghedeity definitely has bigger balls than they do. No contest there. Oh, and the whole thing is one giant heap of satire. For the mouth-breathers who might be reading this: That means it isn't real. (Not that ANY religion is real.)
So why would I attack a farcical religion? As I mentioned before, nothing is exempt from criticism. Also, I've yet to see a Christian successfully criticize the Flying Spaghetti Monster without coming across as hypocritical.
